The first shop opened by third-generation, award-winning pastry chef Eduardo Ruiz. The request was to adapt the traditional local pastry shop concept to that of a contemporary European pastry shop where the focus is on the product.
This inspired the design of a horizontal, one-level display system that features a 14-meter long display case. The display is encased in a structure that takes the shape of a wood tube.
The shop was neutralized to a container-like structure - an anonymous ground floor that provides a great setting to showcase the product.
The glass façade is transformed into a perspective view that reveals the functionality of the location. Apart from architecture and interior design, the project involved other areas of design related to branding – brand identity, naming, packaging concept and design of staff uniform.
